Basic rundown of how the site works

Any user can write a review on any game. Reviewers don't get much attention unless they're "notable". "Notability" has to be acquired and maintained in order to be noticed. "Notability" is determined based on how many reviews you've written, how many of those reviews have been rated for quality, and the average of those quality ratings. Additionally, having a high "credibility" based on publicly-made approval ratings on your reviews gives you extra clout.

Particularly notable reviewers are often offered mod positions. A moderator's primary duty is to quality-rate reviews. Their secondary duty is to investigate malicious activity, which is reported to them by ordinary users. Of course, they're also supposed to browse the site for said malicious activity on their own time.

All real power is held by the admins.
Admins have the right to take disciplinary action on users. Mods investigate, document, and send the results of their findings to the admins. Generally, admins trust the mods judgment so much that they'll just once-over the report and take the predefined or recommended action immediately.
